Groups and individuals across Ontario are being asked to tell the Commission about the value of public services to help produce a report to counter the Drummond cuts.
Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty wants to pay off his budget deficit with deep, painful cuts to public services. The problem is, public services didn’t cause the deficit, and cuts now will not meet the needs of Ontarians. On the contrary: Cuts will kill jobs and make income inequality even worse.
As he cuts services for people, Dalton McGuinty is cutting taxes for big corporations. Meanwhile, people like Canada’s top CEOs can access loopholes that let them pay lower rates of tax than the rest of us.
