Wayne Hanley

Wayne Hanley is the National President of United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Canada, which is a progressive and inclusive labour organization that is dedicated to workers’ rights and a better future for their families.  

He is a long-time champion of worker's rights and has been at the forefront of efforts in Canada to  improve working conditions for migrant farm workers.  Wayne has a Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Toronto.  As president of UFCW Local 175, Wayne has grown the membership, provided an excellent servicing record, delivered record-breaking fundraising efforts for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC), and provided many innovations in the area of Labour Education.  Wayne has been a Trustee on numerous Pension and Health and Welfare plans, and has served on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Food Industry Council and the Textile Human Resources Council.  He is also very active in international labour relations as an International Executive Vice President on the five-member UFCW International Executive Committee led by UFCW International President Joe Hansen.
